I wouldn’t qualify my office as being “green” per se, as I have plenty of cables running in it that have flammable and toxic PVC jacketing and regular paint was applied on my walls. I did however manage to reclaim quite a few things:
- I repurposed a margarita fish bowl into a planter with eco-friendly water beads and a bamboo shoot
- I have a pile of old copper cables that I am keeping for a future photo shoot. It will be then recycled
- I have a small collection of fossils on my wall
- I reclaimed airline eye covers for the rare times I take a nap on the couch
- I have a reclaimed warehouse light bulb sitting on my desk in a CableOragnizer mug to give me bright ideas
- I have a steel ruler circa 1994 from when I went to Design School
- Some of the furniture was reused as well from our old location
- All my trade publications are recycled, along with my Gatorade bottles
- I use cable ties as bookmarks (does that count?)
- I set up some Lutron® Powr Savr™ Wireless Switches and Wireless Occupancy Sensors to save green on my electric bill
I think that if I drank soda, I would clean the cans and glue them to one of my walls as art or something.
